ERA Athletics
  • ERA is hosting our first-ever Central Tar Heel Conference event, the varsity girls and boys basketball semifinals and finals, on February 19 and 20. Not only will this give us the opportunity to showcase what an amazing school we have, but this is a tremendous revenue opportunity with both ticket and concession sales. 
  • The silent auction will be held in February. Auction proceeds benefit ERA athletics this year. 
  • Winter and spring athletic awards receptions are a new-to-ERA tradition we'd like to continue to build and grow. 
  • We are hoping to host our 2nd Annual Color Run founded last year by Gavin Phillips and the Boosters. 
  • The Booster Club is also hoping to kick-off the advertising sales project for sponsors to purchase banners for display in the high school gym. Gavin has graciously spearheaded this project to date and has us ready to run. 
  • Volunteers needed: team parent, ticket & concession sales volunteer, Booster Club member or lead, or any number of volunteer jobs we have! 
  • The next Booster Club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8 in the evening at the high school. Exact time TBD. 
IV. Silent Auction - Feb 2020
  A. Silent Auction Update
   
The plan this year to reduce workload, while maintaining income: online auction only, no gala or live auction.  Proposed date: online auction only Sat. Feb 1 - Friday Feb. 28th, Saturday Feb 29th divvy up items, pickup starting on Sunday. All proceeds to benefit the ERA Athletics  

1) We have made a lot of effort emailing vendors but could use your help going door to door.  If you are comfortable asking folks for donations, here is a list of vendors that have already been approached (we don't want to pester folks by asking multiple times).  Please email me if you approach a business so that I can inform the task force volunteers.  Also attached is the blank donation request letter, and tax ID form to provide them.

2) We have a vision of promoting the auction by videoing coaches talking about their programs.  Looking for a student to volunteer to ask interview questions, and another to video the interview.

3.) There will also be an opportunity to volunteer to help promote the event by talking to parents in the car line, teaching people how to use Bidding Owl software, distributing items before or after school to auction winners, etc.  Be on the lookout for Sign Up Genius signup coming in January.
