In light of the current situation with COVID-19, school districts have been encouraged to make a local decision about whether or not to take an April vacation as planned. The leadership team at VPCS is recommending that we revise our school year calendar to remove the April vacation in order to keep momentum with student engagement. Revising the calendar to remove four previously scheduled vacation days on April 21-24th will change our last day of school to June 16th. We have consulted with key stakeholders and all support making this change. Rachel is asking the board to approve the revised SY20 calendar to reflect this change.
