Public Comment: We welcome students, staff, parents, and all members of the public to our meetings! Members of the public are invited to address the board at the beginning of each meeting and will also be given opportunity to comment on each agenda item during the meeting, under the direction of the Board Chair or presiding Member.

Call the Meeting to Order

B. Johnson called a meeting of the board of directors of Libertas College Prep to order on Saturday Feb 11, 2023 at 9:34 AM.

C.

Motion to approve the agenda.

C. Chambers made a motion to approve agenda.
N. Cabrel seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.

Approve Minutes

G. Pope made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 01-07-23.
T. Ossei-Anto seconded the motion.

To amend the minutes to note that Brandis Johnson was in attendance. 

The board VOTED to approve the motion.

E.

Public Comment

Luis Aguilar from the Charter Schools Division was here in attendance and introduced himself. 

II. Leadership Updates

A.

School Dashboard Update

Dan Maguire gave updates on school culture and encouraged people to come see the Black History Month Celebration Feb 22. 

 

Reviewed the SMART goals for 2022-2023 including updates on staffing and anticipated retention. Also gave updates on interest forms and projected enrollment for next year. 

 

Cinthia Olivares gave the update on the percent of 8th graders who have completed their applications to college preparatory high schools.

 

Dan Maguire proposed an intervention plan to put in place for the 2023-2024 school year.

Discussion of the board dashboard.

Academic Task Force

Joy Turner gave an overview of a recent school walkthrough.

Scholarship Committee Update

Strategic Taskforce Update

Greg Pope gave the overview.

Finance Update

Greg Pope gave an overview of the December financials. 

G.

Head of School Evaluation Update

Christen Chambers gave an overview of the current standing of the evaluation. 

III. Motions

A.

School Accountability Report Card

J. John C. Heintz made a motion to approve the School Accountability Report Card.
C. Chambers seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

B.

Motion to approve the 2023-2024 Salary Table.

J. John C. Heintz made a motion to approve the salary table with a 3% increase.
C. Chambers seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

IV. Closing Items

A.

Adjourn Meeting

G. Pope made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
N. Cabrel seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 11:19 AM.
