Mr. Martinez thanked both organizations for their work, in particular Dr. Wunder and Dr. Silvers for working well together.

Dr. Wunder introduced Mr. Tom Vander Ark, who spoke about Artificial Intelligence in education and the Profile of a Learner.

  • Prioritize AI literacy for both teachers and students (in Technology Use policies)
  • Important to invite teachers to develop content curriculum, tutor, and co-author projects with AI tools

Mr. Boston commented about the importance of students' experiential learning.

Discussion ensued around experiential learning modes, social media, guardrails, implementation, and educating people on what Artificial Intelligence is.

B.

Presentation/Discussion: Community Initiatives Update

Ms. Joubert spoke of the work and her appreciation for the leadership of Wiseburn and Da Vinci.

She delineated the large number of Wiseburn events which DV students supported with their volunteerism and DV staff supported with their time. Da Vinci Schools Fund donated funds to support the events as well.

Performing Arts expansion from 2022-23 to 2023-24 was remarkable.

Summer Athletics Camps are targeted by age group. High school students' camps for training and conditioning will be run by UCLA's EXOS. All safety officers will receive first aid training, a health tent will be set up, a Certified Nursing Assistant (a Da Vinci alumnus) has been hired.

Athletics camps are being cross-promoted in WUSD and DV, social media advertising, flyer drops, newspaper ads, etc.

Mr. Martinez thanked Ms. Joubert and Ms. Levenson for their leadership.

C.
