Call the Meeting to Order
D. Lyles-Wallace called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of KIPP Memphis Public Schools to order on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 5:05 PM.

L. Sweet made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Committee Meeting on 04-01-25.
N. Gatson seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Academic Excellence Presentation

TN Ready and EOC Participation
Chief Tate gave an update and overview of the following:
TNReady Participation:
- All public school students in grades 3-8 and those enrolled in specific high school courses are required to participate in TNReady assessments.
- Assessment Participation Rates:
- KMCE: 100% participation across all subjects
- KMCM: Had between 99% - 100% participation across all subjects
- KMCH: Had between 98.7% - 99% participation across all subjects

Advanced Academics Updates
Chief Brooks gave an overview and update of the following:
Graduation Projection:
- The projected graduation rate is 85.9%, up from 79.2% last year and 79.6% the year before. With only 10 students left to locate, the rate may increase further, already exceeding the double AMO target of 81.8%.
Valedictorian and Salutatorian:
- Thanks to the generous donations from the board, these students will receive a KIPP Memphis Board of Directors Scholarship:
Jakeeyah Tanner, Valedictorian - $1,550
Tamia Booker, Salutatorian - $1,000

Committee Chair Lyles-Wallace: Do we get data around why students have withdrawn from College?
Chief Brooks: Yes. Some of the reasons are financial and some students just do not like being away from home.

Academic Goals 2024-25
PSAT Results - 9th Grade College Readiness, YoY / 9th Grade Median Scores, YoY
Question: Board Chair Johnson:
- What was the range of scores in 2025 versus the range in 2024.
Answer: Dr. Tate: Will get the information to the Committee within 2 days.
