Board Member/Finance Chair Dr. Sweet presented the following finance updates:

Academic Excellence Committee Report
Chief Brooks presented the Academic Committee data update on the following:
- TNReady assessments measure a student’s skills in English-Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies in grades 6-8, ELA, Mathematics, and Science for grades 3- 5.
- TN Ready Performance | TN Ready ELA | TN Ready Math | TN Ready Science
- TN Ready 2022 - 23 Goals for KMCE, KMAM/KMCM, KMCH
- TVAAS (Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System
- At the end of each school year, schools receive a TVAAS composite score between level 1 (below expectations) and level 5 (above expectations)
- Current enrollment data was presented for KMCE, KMCM, KMAM, and KMCH as follows:
- Budgeted Enrollment, Current Enrollment, Percent of Budgeted Enrollment
- iReady Results at KMPS: iReady is an online program for Reading and Mathematics that will help our KMPS teachers determine KIPPsters’ needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year.
- Academic Programming
- STEM
- Community Service Project: During Q1, the STEM students at KMCM and KMAM will participate in a community service project with the Wolf River Conservancy.
- STEM Night: At the end of each quarter, each campus will host a STEM Night for parents and community partners. [Henry Campus - Tuesday, Oct. 4th - 6 pm | Howell Campus - Thursday, October 6th - 6 pm]
- UT Knoxville Engineers Day: For the first time, students from KMCH will represent KIPP at the event sponsored by the UTK College of Engineering.
- Special Populations
- KMPS has hired a new Director of Special Populations who has completed a thorough audit of student records. They have made commitments to support all of the KIPPsters through a Socio-Emotional Learning curriculum.
- Dual Enrollment
- KMPS is excited to offer Dual Enrollment for the first time in KMCH's history and they have partnered with Bethel University and Tennessee State University.
- KIPP Forward
- KIPP Forward will be having a college fair on September 28, 2022, from 1 pm - 3 pm at KMCH Gym. Attending will be approximately 60 colleges, universities, and business partners.
- STEM
Questions:
Board Member Schuyler: Will students be able to see those campuses and get on those campuses at some point so that they can ideate and see themselves in that space sometime during the year?
CEO Burt: There is an opportunity for the TSU. Part of the program is that TSU has a new state-of-the-art facility for coding and robotics, so that campus is open up to all dual enrollment participants basically doing virtually over the course of the summer. It's a part of TSU, but not a part of Bethel.
Board Member Schuyler: Just a reminder to everyone, 9th-grade dual enrollment is approved for TCAP.

Board Member Anderson gave an update on the Facilities Committee Report as follows:
- COVID and Enrollment Updates
- Summer Updates - Credo & Joyful Environment
- Phase 1 Deferred Maintenance Repairs in progress (Windows, Roofing, & HVAC)

Chief Executive Officer Report
CEO Burt gave an update on the following:
Strategic Planning Services
- KIPP Memphis contracts for professional services, specifically the procurement of a strategic planning service. The strategic plan will serve as a foundation and guidepost, for the next three to five years, to inform the most effective avenues to positively impact KMPS, directly through the Regional Office.
- Recommended Strategic Planning Services: One-year agreement with Attuned Education Partners
First 20-Day Summary
- Successful opening of schools: New school design | Classroom readiness
- Implementation of STEM and AVID
- Major reduction in chronic absenteeism
- Consecutive fight-free days across all campus
- Successful parent Open House
- October will be the kick-off of KMPS's 20th Anniversary.

Chairman's Report
Board on Track - Brianna Stuczynski, Governance Coach
- Presented to the Board an overview of Board on Track and how to access and how it can be used for the Board and Committee Meetings. ____________________________________________________________________________
Questions:
Board Member Sweet: Is the content for board certification the same as it was for last year?
Brianna Stuczynski: Yes, the content is the same as it was last year. An update was not required since the document was updated last year.
Jasmine Worles: The board is required for those preexisting board members to train 4 hours by November 1st of this year and for new members to train six hours by June 1, 2023.
