Pursuant to emergency proclamation 30-JCE 2020, the Rooted School New Orleans Board hereby certifies that it will conduct all meetings scheduled for 2024 - 2025, in person (unless otherwise designated), at 6701 Press Dr. in the College of Education Building & Human Development on SUNO's campus in the Social Hall on the 1st Floor.

 

Board meetings shall be held in this manner until further notice.

Demetria Brown of EdOps will present the Executive Summary for the February 2025 and the March 2025 Rooted School financials.

 

Ms. Brown will also present a projected budget for Rooted School - FY 2025 - 2026.

  • Current Projected Enrollment (133 Students - Round 1)
  • Enrollment Efforts & Goals (Kaitlin Karpinski)
  • Potential Impact of Current Projected NOPS Deficit
  • Brief Discussion of June Budget Amendment
 
V. Executive Session
 

The board will move into Executive Session to discuss progress on UTNO negotiations.

 

*Any discussion requiring board action will take place when the board moves back into the public session.

 
VI. Facilities Update
 

There will be a brief update on facilities for the 2025 - 2026 school year.  These will include:

 

  • Prospective New Locations
  • Progress on Realtor RFP
  • Updates to SUNO Contract
 
VII. Current Contracts - Exceeding Threshold
 

There will be a brief discussion of current contracts that may exceed the threshold set by the board for 2024 - 2025.

VIII. Academic Excellence
 

Ms. Karpinski, Executive Director/School Leader will provide a brief update on progress toward 2024 - 2025 Academic Goals, including:

  • Current Annual Attendance % 
  • Enrollment Efforts for 2025 - 2026
  • Balloon Badge Achievement
