The matters listed are those reasonably anticipated by the Chair to be discussed at the meeting. Not all items listed may, in fact, be discussed. Other items not listed may be brought up for discussion to the extent permitted by law. All agenda items are informational unless otherwise denoted, though all committee reports require a vote for acceptance. The meeting will be held on the campus of the school.

It is the beginning of a new semester, so we will review two critical goals of this committee that will shape our success. 

 

Goal 1: Improve Board's oversight of academic achievement in literacy school wide. 

  • What are the high level literacy plans that this committee can communicate to the whole board? 
  • Compared to this point last year, are we growing in literacy at a slower, faster, or similar rate? 
  • Based on learnings from the fall semester, what interventions are needed to ensure students acquire the appropriate literacy skills? (Interventions can include classroom or home). 

 

Goal 2: Monitor data on school performance and student achievement, including data by gender, ethnicity, economically disadvantaged, and students with exceptionalities (not including Gifted & Talented).

  • How have these identifiers informed how instruction is being delivered? 
  • Are there particular groups that require additional attention this semester? If so, what is the plan to ensure that gaps are closed by the EOY?

  A. Opportunity w/ Metairie Park Country Day
   

Country Day has been approved to move with the project. They are looking for NOLA-PS partners. If interested, who will be the point person?

Guests are welcome to speak during each agenda item with recognition from the presiding officer. In the event to comments or debate may appear to be lengthy, the presiding officer will set a time limit the open comment period; will define the time length each person is afforded to speak; will recognize the order of the respondents, and each person will be asked to state their name, city, parish, and affiliation with the school (examples: employee, administration, parent, community guest, school board representative). This policy subject to change, as necessary.
