Facilities Update

Marisol Magaña presented the facilities update.

  • 12th street campus
    • Clearing items out of garage and putting them in storage.
    • Remodeling nurse's office.
  • Lakeview campus
    • Classroom floors waxed.
    • Continued maintenance at Lakeview campus.
  • Facilities Grant
    • ​​​​​​​Mid year certification for American Indian Public Charter School I (AIPCS I) and American Indian Public Charter School II (AIPCS II) due February 26, 2021.
    • May receive 19 month grant for American Indian Public High School (AIPHS).  Documents have been submitted.
      • The grant is for rent and Prop 39 cost.
  • Prop 39 Updates
    • November 1, 2020: Facilities request forms were submitted for AIPCS I, AIPCS II and AIPHS.
    • December 1, 2020: Received letter from Oakland United School District (OUSD) communicating they have no objection to enrollment projection for AIPCS I, AIPCS II, and AIPHS.
    • February 1, 2021: Received Prop 39 Preliminary Offer Letters.
      • AIPCS I: 
        • Franklin Elementary School, 915 Foothill Blvd. Oakland, CA 94606.
          • 9 Classrooms.
      • AIPCS II:
        • McClymonds, 2607 Myrtle St. Oakland, CA 94607
          • 12 Classrooms.
        • Montera, 5555 Oakland, CA 94611
          • 14 Classrooms.
      • AIPHS:
        • Lakeview, 746 Grand St. Oakland, CA 94610
          • 15 Classrooms.
  • 12th Street Permit Status
    • Construction permit expires August 16, 2021
      • Still working the 3rd floor buildout.
      • Applying for permit extension.

Marisol Magaña presented Prop 39 - Preliminary Offer Letters 2021 - 2022 for AIPCS, AIPCS II, and AIPHS.

    • 15 classes are not enough for AIPHS.  Will discuss further options on February 26, 2021.
    • Currently AIPHS occupies 17 rooms.  The projected amount of rooms needed is 19.
