Call the Meeting to Order

Brian Johnson BigSam called a meeting of the board of trustees of Arlee Joint School District #8 to order on Tuesday Aug 11, 2026 at 6:30 PM.

C.

Public Comment

Keith Clarke, local mechanic, reported that he was hired to review the buses and district vehicles for needed repairs.  After that review, he stated that it will cost an estimated $100,000 to get all vehicles repaired, serviced and up to date.  Some routine services had not been done at all, so getting everything up to date is the goal.

Approve Minutes from July 14, 2026

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to approve the minutes from Arlee Board of Trustees on 07-14-26.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Consent Agenda

A.

Recommendations for JH and HS Coaches FY2027

B.

Transportation Director: Jacob Bosley - $8,000

C.

SPED Director: Anne Tanner - $15,000

D.

Authorized Representative: Kendal Baldwin

Out of State Travel - Yellowstone May 17th-22nd, 2027

Board Vote on Consent Agenda

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to approve all consent agenda items, with the correction of Dori's name and removal of Crystal Hoffman as MCT advisor.
Kris Gardner seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

III. New Business

A.

Trustees Financial Summaries Elementary and High School FY2026

Kris Gardner made a motion to Approve the Elementary and High School Trustee's Financial Summaries for FY2026.
Lindsey O'Neill seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

B.

Elementary and High School Budgets FY2027

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to approve the budgets for Elementary and High School for FY2027.
Kris Gardner seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

C.

Collective Bargaining Agreement FY2027: Change to base for Extracurricular matrix - $43,500

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to update the extra curricular matrix to the correct base pay of $43,500.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.

Policy 8210: Procurement of School Food - Revision

Kris Gardner made a motion to to approve the revision of Policy 8210.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

E.

Out of District Attendance agreements - outgoing

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to acknowledge the outgoing Student Attendance Agreements as presented.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

F.

Input from Tribe and Parents of Indian students on the educational programs and activities of the District

Miranda Burland: Tribal Education.  Ms. Burland spoke about the consultation the school district has every year with the Tribe that creates collaboration between the two.  They also administer JOM funds and work with the local IEC.  Other partnerships include support for parents, professional development for staff, and PIR tribal day.  There is also a curriculum available to staff.  

 

Superintendent Baldwin talked with Desiree Fox regarding suicide prevention, the mobile health unit, and after-school programs.  

 

Cammie Dupuis-Pablo:  Ms. Pablo, IEC president, requested a bridge between administration and the IEC.  

IV. Finance

A.

Approval of Claims, Payroll and Reports

Lindsey O'Neill made a motion to approve the claims, payroll and reports as attached to the agenda.
Kris Gardner seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

V. Closing Items

A.

Adjourn Meeting

Kris Gardner made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m.
Samantha Lytle seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 7:22 PM.
