J. Rodgers led the Mission Moment. 

 

  • Brandon Frazier from Wooddale Middle School was accepted into the Flight Academy School this summer in Orlando, Florida. He will receive a full scholarship, covering all his travel expenses this summer. Only 25 students from Memphis, Tennessee, were accepted and received a scholarship. The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) Inspires Excellence and provides opportunities in aerospace by Supporting, Transforming, Educating, and Mentoring our members and communities.

  • 2023 = 68 Seniors Participated in 1st annual event 
  • (68 seniors/ 248 seniors in district) 
  • 27% attended Decision Day 
     
  • 2024 = 182 Seniors Participated in the event 
  • (182 seniors/ 258 seniors in district)
  • 71% attended Decision Day

Growth 262% increase between 2023 and 2024

Enrollment

J. Rodgers led the Enrollment Updates.

 

  • 200 rising 9th graders entered BCHS’ lottery 
  • Hillcrest HS is currently 72% enrolled, with an increased target of 550 students.
  • MS Team recruiting during feeder school promotional. 

D.

Engaged Parents & Community Enrollment Update

J. Rodgers led the Community Partnerships Updates.

 

  • Starting Line is a partnership between Nike and midsouth schools to build and deliver an industry-informed, flexible logistics training program that brings together technical, essential and readiness skills. Combining industry and learning perspectives the program provides virtual and hands on experiences that expose students to logistics operations and practices.
  • Through Starting Line, students are given unprecedented access to the company’s operations and leadership, the skills needed for long-term success and consideration for employment opportunities.
  • BIG SHOUTOUT to Bluff City High School for placing 1st place in their bracket and to Fairley High School for placing 2nd place in their bracket.
