Call the Meeting to Order

A. Allen called a meeting of the board of directors of Green Dot Public Schools Tennessee to order on Thursday Dec 8, 2022 at 4:15 PM.

Mission Moment

Christina Austin presented the updated TVAAS scores. Wooddale Middle, Kirby Middle, and Hillcrest High are a TVAAS level 5, Fairley High is a TVAAS level 3, and Bluff City High is a TVAAS level 2. 

II. Consent Agenda

A.

Minutes from October 27, 2022, Board of Directors meeting

L. Neal made a motion to approve the minutes from GDPST Board of Directors' Meeting on 10-27-22.
A. Allen seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
L. Neal made a motion to Resolution of the Board of Directors of GDPST to Authorize Signatures.
C. Simmons seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

FY23 Financial Update (Audit)

Eide Baily CPA and Associates reviewed financial audit. 

 

  • Auditor’s opinion was an adverse opinion on U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and an unmodified opinion on a regulatory basis of accounting
  • No material weaknesses or significant deficiencies identified.

Green Dot Public Schools TN and National Q1 FY23 Financial Forecast

Dan Peñaranda presented the board members with the financial report for GDPSN. 

D.

High Quality Model Development Update

Development continues to focus on core support for current programs at all five schools, while also advancing three strategies to provide students additional opportunities:

  • CTE Workforce Development/ Mentorship
  • Music Programs
  • Bluff City Gym



 

Drafting a $4M application to the TDoE Innovative School Models grant program, due in January. Will support CTE pathways at the high schools, and STEM programs at the middle schools.
