A. Jimenez-Schulman called a meeting of the Academic Achievement Committee of Ivy Hill Prep Charter School to order on Wednesday Feb 9, 2022 at 4:34 PM.

II. Academic Achievement

A.

HOS Report

  • Student recruitment is on track for targets
  • 2 teachers, including special education interventionist, and DCI hired and started
  • DOO pipeline is picking up
  • Working to send more materials and study sheets home to support parent/ family partnership and work at home with students
    • ACTION: Management to add a question on family survey to collect feedback on how to make this even better
  • Robotics program kicked off
  • Focus on reviewing and responding to data daily with teachers
  • Additional counseling services were live for staff, families, and students
    • Helpful when used, but not used very widely by families/ community members

III. Other Business

A.

State testing

  • Parents/ families are getting more comfortable with state testing, some still considering opting out
    • ACTION: Management still to reach back out to Charter Center to ensure we have all talking points to inform staff and families of impacts of difference decisions

B.

Updating COVID Protocols Policy

  • Wanting to maintain consistency with CDC and DOE protocols as much as possible, while maximizing safety and instruction
