Perea Elementary School will prepare all students academically, socially, and emotionally for success by creating and maintaining a classroom and school environment that is student-centered, with high academic expectations and where all students feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued.

Call the Meeting to Order

J. Boyd called a meeting of the board of directors of Perea Elementary School to order on Thursday May 26, 2022 at 4:33 PM.

Perea Elementary School Board Meeting Minutes

K. Nichols made a motion to approve Perea Elementary School on 05-05-22.
D. Moses seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. School Leader's Report

A.

Staffing

  • Current positions available
  1. PPS has 3 positions to fill.
  2. PES has 7 positions to fill.
  3. Use Pool from Teach901 and Select Ed.
  4. Referrals from Staff.
  • Staff Retention
  1. 21-22 90% Staff retention.
  2. 20-21 Year of Covid19 75% retention
  3. Will perform Exit interviews. 
  • 22-23 Enrollment
  1. Schedule Registration Drive.
  2. Community Events.
  3. July Back to School Drive.
  • Update on Transcend
  1. Successful visit with Transcend
  2. Two Teachers will visit them.
  • Summer Learning Camp
  1. SLC dates June 6 - July1.
  2. National Summer School Institute (ELA and Math).
  3. Third Grade Chapter Book
  4. New Nurse on site.
  5. Summer Institute funded by TDOE.
  6. Preferred Meals to provide meals/afternoon snacks.
  • 22-23 School Year Calendar
  1. PPS and PES calendar to align school start and end time.
  2. Morning huddle.
  3. Departmentalization for grades 2-4.
  4. Restorative ISS (Supervise studies& Reset) and 2 Family engagement Assistants.
  5. Model classrooms in PPS and PES.
