Elaine Schmiedeshoff from CSBM shared our monthly financials from May 2026 with the board. TNAACS continues to have a robust amount of cash on hand. Elaines shared there were few changes from the previous month in revenue. and that TNAACS's bottom line continues to improve. 

Elaine then moved onto sharing the TNAACS school budget for 2026/2027.

Jenny Trani shared the schools End of Year iReady Data in ELA ands math with the goal of reflecting on professional learning needs and supports for teachers/students based on the data data.

She shared that as a school, TNAACS iReady data in both reading and math were considered to be high growth and high achievement. While we did not meet our school wide goal of having no students perform in the read in reading or math, the percentages of students in the red dropped, with 3% in the red in math and 6% in the red in ELA. In all, 60% of TNAACS students performed in the green or double green in math and 66% of our students performed in the green or double green in ELA. 

Jenny also shared some feedback and observations fro our teachers:

• Students are burnt out from testing by June.
• Too much screen time. Students are more engaged in book studies and reading real books (1st and 3rd grade).
• Some students just don’t try as hard after state exams. They vocalize it. Example: “I don’t care. I’ll try harder in middle school.”
• Some students can read accurately but struggle with nonsense words and phonics assessments.
• Some students did not use the Four Square organizer and chose not to.
• Some MLL students perform worse when taking the math test in Spanish because they learn academic vocabulary in English.
• Some students continue to not meet their usage goals. They need extrinsic motivation.
• Vocabulary impacts math achievement as well.
• Students need to be able to articulate their thinking both orally and in writing. (Paloma Saez).

Next Jenny shared enrollment data trends with the board and the steps the school is taking to increase enrollment. These initiatives include:

• Vanguard Mailing in July/Aug
•  Bus Shelter ads
• Continue Social Media Posts
• Have Ms. Tatum work tours and registrations during summer school 
• Continue Getting Ready for  K Workshops- 37 attendees across 4 workshops- Survey Request for Math
• Giving out free uniforms if registered by June 5
• More canvassing with Underdog

The Academic Excellence Committee shared they had reviewed our iReady data with the DTLS at their most recent meeting. 

Lisa Silva reminded TNAACS Board members to complete their Financial Disclosure forms for the 2025/2026 Annual Report, due on August 1st. 

Lisa Silva shared Professional development resources provided by Board on Track for TNAACS board members. She asked that the forms be submitted b y June 19th.
