Call the Meeting to Order
E. Hammonds called a meeting of the Policy/Governance Committee Committee of Brighten Academy to order on Monday Jul 13, 2026 at 6:15 PM.

Approve Minutes
E. Hammonds made a motion to approve the minutes from Policy/Governance Committee Committee Meeting on 06-01-26.
L. Bryant seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM.

Evony gave an update on a new Brighten Academy website and the option to move it under Douglas County School System's website.
Evony gave an overview of the new Social Media Policy. Policy was created with Mrs. Washington-Knight.
Aubrielle Cameron gave an overview on where this policy stands. She and other admin staff members are researching better options for this policy.
Dr. Littles was asked to give an on the school athletics plan. Please note, there is but there is no athletics policy.
Dr. Littles gave an update on the Douglas County School District's updates to their Bullying policy. Brighten Academy will revise its policy to incorporate DCSS's bullying policy revisions.
