Bob Carlson called a meeting of the Governance Committee Committee of Great Oaks Charter School - Bridgeport to order on Wednesday Oct 11, 2023 at 5:00 PM.

Chief Operating Officer Report
Report Overview:
L. Hubbard discussed Enrollment number goal was hit at a total of 664 students.
- D. Zief asked why we lost some students during the enrollment period.
- L. Hubbard stated that an issue we encountered was bussing for students in Middle School. The bussing issue is because of shortage of bus drivers. Another issue was that students don't enroll because other schools have competitive music programs or sports/teams that we don't offer.
- Nupower Cherry Street partners have agreed to provide 10% discount as long as the school creates an energy conservation plan.

Chief Executive Officer Report
Report Overview:
- Final preparations for State visit
- Board is invited to speak to the State. D. Zieff will attend in person. B. Carlson will be remote for the visit.
- J. Scalice reports suspensions are low
- J. Scalice stated we are at full student capacity

Updates from Board Chair
B. Carlson proposes collapsing academic and governance committee meeting business to reside in governance committee meetings. Given academic committee has not met in a while/has not been reconvened, it was agreed to address academic committee related business during governance.
