Call the Meeting to Order

Bob Carlson called a meeting of the Governance Committee Committee of Great Oaks Charter School - Bridgeport to order on Wednesday Feb 18, 2026 at 5:02 PM.

Approve Last Month's Meeting Minutes

David Zieff made a motion to approve the minutes from GOBPT December Governance Meeting on 12-15-25.
Bob Carlson seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Governance Committee

A.

CEO Report

J. Scalice went over CEO report for our Board of Directors.

 

  • Over the last month and a half the school has been gathering data, presenting it to the state and working with compliance. 
  • At the beginning of February the school admin team met with the state Accountability and Support Committee for our Charter Renewal plan. Our board chairman, B. Carlson, also attended the meeting. 
    • B. Carlson states that the meeting was great, It was a great table setting for the renewal next year. Everyone did a great job! 
  • During the board meeting, J. Scalice will report on assessment data from the Fall compared to end of January so we can see a comparative progress for our students.

 

J. Scalice also mentioned we will have an Executive Session today. 

III. Other Business

A.

New business

L. Hubbard is not able to attend today's board meeting as we currently have an Open House today. 

  • Recruitment is well on the way!

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:12 PM.
