Michael Duffy and Mike McGregor will share an update on the financing of our long-term facility and ask the board to vote to approve the terms of the financing

Michael Duffy and Michael McGregor will share with the board the plan for expanding the school's current lease to include sufficient space for SY 17-18 expansion to 9th grade |

A. | Report of the Academic Committee | |
The Academic Committee will report on the December 12th meeting where the plan for the HS curriculum was discussed. Salient features of the HS curriculum include:
1) alignment with state of CT required coursework and best practice from exemplary charter networks in CT 2) focus on knowledge, skills and mindsets for college readiness 3) continued emphasis on personalized learning through tutorial 4) continue to treat 6th grade as a self-contained grade (bridge from elementary to middle school) 5) teachers in 7,8,9 loop across grades (7,8 and 8,9) but maintain content integrity 6) addition of a fine arts and foreign language teacher 7) school day will end between 3:10 and 3:30 with optional enrichment period from 3:15-4:15 8) HS students will be able to participate in BPS sports programs with their home school The Academic Committee will continue to discuss the HS curriculum in the coming weeks. |
