The Academic Committee met on October 13th to discuss plans for building out the Great Oaks model for high school. The committee discussed the KED model at length and what it would take to effectively implement it in Bridgeport. The committee decided not to proceed with plans to build our high school model around the KED program initially but supports the Great Oaks' Foundation's ongoing exploration of the program as it could be helpful in the long-run once it has been built out and vetted for the US standards and implementation. Given the immediate needs of the school the committee agreed that it did not make sense for a member of the school staff to attend a KED site visit in Sweden in November.
