Call the Meeting to Order

L. Curry called a meeting of the Governance Committee of Simple Vue Academy to order on Wednesday Oct 7, 2026 at 1:32 PM.

Approve Minutes

D. Brown made a motion to approve the minutes from SVA Governance Committee on 05-06-26.
L. Curry seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Governance

A.

Board Recruitment

Discusseed application from Dr. Karla Bradford. Lovette will invte Dr. Bradford to the October meeting. 

B.

Monitoring Update

Morgan provided a monitoring update. SVA has completed several monitoring cycles. One finding was received related to FY26 Governance Training. 

C.

ED Annual Goals

Lovette will create a draft to share with the Governance Committee and Nandi. Lovette anticipates the Board will vote on a final draft at its November meeting. 

D.

Policy Review

The committee reviewed the draft policy related to students earning high school credit for 8th grade classes. Lovette will follow-up with Nandi regarding a few questions on the GPA language. Lovette also noted the need for a policy regarding the placement of students in advanced classes generally. 

D. Brown made a motion to present this policy to the Board for adoption pending additional clarification from Nandi.
L. Curry seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

III. Other Business

A.

Facilities Update

Morgan provided a facilities update based on her meeting with Nandi.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 2:06 PM.
