Ogden City School District (OCSD) has supported OPA with an AVID District Director. OCSD will no longer offer this service to OPA, so we needs to establish our own AVID District Director.
OPA Administration desires to continue this using AVID in the Junior High. AVID supports all students across the curriculum, and about 1/3 of our students take AVID through the AVID elective.
The training cost for an AVID District Director is $10,000 plus travel expenses. These costs may be divided over 2 years depending on scheduling and AVID requirements. There are no recurring costs to having an OPA AVID District Director.
OPA Administration asks the OPA Board to approve the expenditure of $10,000 for the training of an AVID District Director.
