M. Snyder called a meeting of the Governance Committee of Brighter Choice Charter Schools to order on Thursday Dec 9, 2021 at 8:32 AM.

A.
Scholar discipline BCCS-G
K. Ford described a situation of unacceptable behavior by a student and the board discussed measures that the school can take regarding the student's intervention plans, her future enrollment and what her services would be in her district school.

School Calendar Update
K. Ford followed up with NYSED about shortening our calendar to 185 days. The calendar was submitted and approved.
The school leaders discussed adding two "mental health" days to be added to the current calendar. Dec 23rd and May 27th would be mental health days and school would end on the 24th of June. The board will vote on that in the full board meeting.

School safety update
Luke discussed contacts he had made regarding a "panic button" to be placed in the front office. He has also keeping track of times that the beat cop designated to the area is seen around the school.
Martha reached out to the Charter School network to coordinate some safety trainings for the staff. In addition to the APD trainings that were offered.
