Call the Meeting to Order

T. Hanmer called a meeting of the Academic Policy Committee of Brighter Choice Charter Schools to order on Thursday Aug 13, 2020 at 9:08 AM.

II. Academic Policy

A.

BCCSG Principal’s report and school update

K. Ford reports:
  • the school is 11 scholars below the budgeted number of scholars. Enrollment continues.
  • BCCSG needs to hire one more teacher. At this point the Science teacher, who resigned at the end of the year, will not be replaced.

BCCSB Principal’s report and school update

K. Mclean reports that BCCSB is 24 scholars below the budgeted number of scholars. Enrollment continues.

K. Mclean also shared the dates of the "Town Hall" remote meetings to discuss he re-opening plans. She summarized what she is going to share with families.

She and K. Ford are working on remote instruction schedules and planning.

Teachers return to school for Professional Development on 8/17, beginning with two days for only new teachers. New topics this session will include Remote Instruction and helping scholars deal with trauma / emotional needs. Staff from Northern Rivers will lead the Trauma sessions.
