Call the Meeting to Order
M. Snyder called a meeting of the board of trustees of Brighter Choice Charter Schools to order on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 9:30 AM.

Approve Minutes
T. Hanmer made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 04-16-26.
C. Driggs seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Janitorial Bids -requires vote
C. Driggs made a motion to After multiple bids were received, a motion to move forward with ACTS janitorial services for the Boys' school.
T. Hanmer seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
Z. Nelson made a motion to authorize K. Ford and L. Licygiewicz to determine the bidder that will best fulfill the needs of the Girls' school after followup conversations with the finalists.
A. Schnide seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

403B vote
C. Driggs made a motion to provide the option to take a loan out against an individual's own 403B account.
Z. Nelson seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
III. Other Business
A.
BCCS Boys' Principal Vote
The Principal search committee reported that there were 21 applicants for the position of Principal at the Boys' school. Six advanced to a second round of remote interviews and from those, 3 were invited to interview and present in person. There was a follow up interview with 2 candidates. After reference check and records check, the board has out forward George Borum as the next principal of BCCS Boys.
T. Hanmer made a motion to Formalize the officer to George Borum as the next principal of BCCS Boys.
A. Schnide seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 AM.

The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
M. Snyder gave the report from the governance committee. The committee heard from each principal who described current and future enrollment data, upcoming academic events as well as end of the year assessments, teacher obvservations and evaluations, and social events for families and scholars.
The committee discussed the new health plans through MVP noting that CDPHP was proposing a 20% increase to premiums while MVP only 10%. L. Licygiewicz described the new plans with minimal disruption to staff. The committee will no longer be working with Pasek consulting due to increased pricing and the board will revisit this need as we get closer to renewal. The committee discussed janitorial bids and will vote on choices.
