Call the Meeting to Order

J. Renbarger called a meeting of the board of directors of Cold Spring School to order on Wednesday Aug 18, 2021 at 5:36 PM.

Approve Minutes

E. Scott made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting on 05-19-21.
C. Wise seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Financial Report

A.

Monthly Financial Report

Fiscal year ending report was presented by Brian Anderson. 

Anderson also presented other monthly financial reports.




 
E. Scott made a motion to approve the financial reports as presented.
P. Gill seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

III. New Business

A.

August 2021 Personnel Report

E. Scott made a motion to approve the August 2021 Personnel Report.
T. Tudor seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

B.

Stipend Proposal

C. Wise made a motion to approve the Marion University Residency Stipend Proposal.
E. Scott seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

C.

PTO Policy For Original Cold Spring Staff Members

C. Wise made a motion to approve the Sick Day Pay Out Policy.
E. Scott seconded the motion.
Policy has been reviewed by HCC (HR firm). Policy is also in line with IPS.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.

Quick Updates

School health insurance changed companies at a higher cost to Cold Spring but within budget. Employee rates stayed the same.

Innovation renewal is beginning. IPS Innovation Office will be here September 8, 2021.

STEM camp was a huge success with 60+ students in attendance each week.



 

E.

Principal Report

Enrollment is 420 students with open seats only in 5th grade. Cold Spring has an 88% retainment of students. The majority of students moved well out of the district or the state. 

COVID update:
  • Last week in IPS was the highest number of positive cases, more than the entire 2020-2021 school year.
  • Cold Spring is continually monitoring safety and minimizing exposure when possible.
  • No staff member has needed to quarantine due to exposure or a positive test

Cold Spring School Goals

Cold Spring has set forth the following goals:

By May of 2022, 50% of all Cold Spring students will meet their NWEA end of year growth goals in reading and math.  
E. Scott made a motion to approve the Cold Spring School Goals.
P. Gill seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
