Serving Students in Grades 5 - 12
We seek to sustain an educational community where an emphasis on academic excellence is complemented by our concern for each learner’s personal growth and intellectual, aesthetic, and psychological development. The curriculum is developmentally responsive – actively engaging students in learning skills in context, integrative – directing students to connect learning to daily lives, and exploratory – enabling students to discover their abilities, interests, learning styles, and ways that they can make contributions to society.

Student handbooks update for 2023-2024 school year
June 13th is the goal for both MS and HS handbooks. The MS and HS have their own unique issues but the products will be as consistent as possible. The administration plans to issue printed copies to be handed out with school year agendas
C.
Performance Hall plans
Conversation started back in 2018. Kim and Teresa have met with Rosemary on this initiative and recommend the board finally addresses this issue with a vote to move forward. The Performance Hall can solve several logistical issues for the school and is seen as a win-win for the school and the town of Seaside. Mark Foley will request this issue to be a discussion item for the next board meeting. General school maintenance as the MS remains an issue and the group suggested that Liberty Partners (hired by the school) be tasked with grant/loan application to bolster the maintenance budget.
D.
Student Excellence Committee members for 2023-2024 school year
It was recommended that Robin Walsh, Annette Railey, Courtney Fail, and Leslie Kilpatrick be selected as the teacher representatives for the 2023-2024 Student Excellence Committee.
E.
CDL funding for teachers
Several teachers have shown interest in certifications to drive busses. Positive discussion; would solve several transportation problems. The administration will look for volunteers and report their findings.
We are still waiting on the State of Florida to clear all the textbooks - but we have vetted our Social Studies materials for 2023-2024 calendar year. We attended a district meeting and will be using both online and hard copy resources. Administration have received books and put together a review with rankings. The Student Excellence Committee did not have a quorum to vote but will have a short meeting prior to the board meeting to approve.
