Founded in 1996
Serving Students in Grades 5 - 12

We seek to sustain an educational community where an emphasis on academic excellence is complemented by our concern for each learner’s personal growth and intellectual, aesthetic, and psychological development. The curriculum is developmentally responsive – actively engaging students in learning skills in context, integrative – directing students to connect learning to daily lives, and exploratory – enabling students to discover their abilities, interests, learning styles, and ways that they can make contributions to society.

Information on procedures for public comment can be found on our Governance Page.  (Click Here)

If anyone needs special assistance to participate in the public input session, every effort will be made to provide an appropriate accommodation. When requesting accommodations for public input, please allow no less than 1 business day notice prior to the scheduled meeting.

Specific issues about a particular student should only be addressed to the school’s Director of Student Services, rather than the Board of Directors.

All public comments will be taken under advisement by the Board, but will not elicit a written or spoken response. The names of persons providing public comment and a brief summary of topics or input will be included in the meeting minutes published. A response will be provided to the stakeholder within seven (7) days.

  B. Internship Program Updates FYI Thomas Miller 5 m

We have placed interns where requested:

Recommended that this year we focus on the current model (Career Safari and Keynotes) until we have the DB Coordinator/College and Career Counselor role in place.

A Career Safari would offer Seacoast Collegiate High School students a broader, more dynamic exploration of industries compared to traditional internships, providing them with a wide range of real-world career experiences before committing to a specific field.

Instead of a single internship placement, a Career Safari would expose students to multiple industries, companies, and roles through a structured program of on-site visits, job shadowing, interactive workshops, and networking with professionals across various fields. This approach allows students to:

• Explore diverse career paths before narrowing their focus, helping them make more informed decisions about college and career options.

• Develop transferable skills through hands-on activities in multiple industries, rather than being limited to one internship experience.

• Build a strong professional network by interacting with industry leaders and potential mentors in multiple fields.

• Align their education with workforce demands by seeing firsthand what skills and certifications are most valued in high-demand careers.

• Increase their adaptability and career readiness, making them more competitive for future internships, jobs, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

By integrating a Career Safari, Seacoast Collegiate High School can provide high-impact career exploration aligned with industry certifications and workforce development—giving students a competitive advantage in an ever-evolving job market.

The high school counselors have met with all rising 11th and 12th grade students and parents so they know what to expect for the coming year in regard to graduation requirements and the enrolling at the college.

  • Next Monday, they will meet with the incoming 11th and 12th grade students and let them know the next steps to enroll at the college and the transition to SCHS.
  • We have sent the course selection sheets out to all the incoming 9th and 10th grade students. We will compile a list of courses and begin scheduling for next year.
    • Still looking at electives, communication, leadership, rock band
    • Adding 2D art

New Hires:

  • We have interviewed several applicants for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to have an ESE and art candidate selection to the board for the March meeting. We still have openings in IT, business and social studies that will need to be filled. Drew has an interview with a social studies candidate March 24th.

*Freshman Orientation: We have set the date for the Freshman orientation for August 7th and the Big Kahuna trip for August 8th. Catherine Ensch and Annie are heading the freshman orientation.
