Location
Seacoast Collegiate High School

Founded in 1996
Serving Students in Grades 5 - 12
We seek to sustain an educational community where an emphasis on academic excellence is complemented by our concern for each learner’s personal growth and intellectual, aesthetic, and psychological development. The curriculum is developmentally responsive – actively engaging students in learning skills in context, integrative – directing students to connect learning to daily lives, and exploratory – enabling students to discover their abilities, interests, learning styles, and ways that they can make contributions to society.
Information on procedures for public comment can be found at https://www.seasideschools.net/about/governance
If anyone needs special assistance to participate in the public input session, every effort will be made to provide an appropriate accommodation. When requesting accommodations for public input, please allow no less than 1 business day notice prior to the scheduled meeting.
Specific issues about a particular student should only be addressed to the school’s Director of Student Services, rather than the Board of Directors.
All public comments will be taken under advisement by the Board, but will not elicit a written or spoken response. The names of persons providing public comment and a brief summary of topics or input will be included in the meeting minutes published. A response will be provided to the stakeholder within seven (7) days.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by this body with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

B. | High School Update | FYI | Thomas Miller | 5 m | |
We welcomed 175 students to the 9th and 10th grade on Monday. It has been a great start with many parents sharing emails of excitement and enthusiasm! We are offering new courses this year that will increase the student experience. They are AP Seminar, Cyber Security (obtaining the Security+ cert), IT fundamentals (obtaining the JavaScript coding cert), College Success (a college credit course), GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), and our Entrepreneurship program will additionally offer the Design for Delight certification which will allow our students to get obtain the Master Entrepreneurship Certification. We have also welcomed an 8th grader to our SCHS Geometry class at the beginning of the day which will allow our SNS students a course not currently offered at the middle school. Our new athletic programs are in full swing. Our cross country teams will compete this weekend in Niceville. Our swim and dive program began practice this summer and will have a meet later this month. Our weightlifting teams have also begun off-season conditioning. We are still working on finding a girls lacrosse coach and Mr. Moore has interviews set up for next week.
Today, we had our 11th grade and new 12th grade orientation at NWFSC. They will begin school next week. The Device for Life initiative has been a success and has been greatly appreciated by our students and their parents. We have also hosted 2 college workshops to help students with college applications and to help them complete their Common Application. We will host our first Dream Big workshop this Friday.
We will have our first Lunch at the Coast this Friday that will also serve as a club fair. With the extended lunch, it will allow students to gain insight on clubs offered at SCHS while they have extra time to eat and meet our upperclassmen. It’s been a great start and we are looking to build on our momentum and have a great school year! |
