Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §§ 38-431.01 and 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Governing Board and the general public that the Governing Boards for Candeo Peoria (“CP”) and Candeo North Scottsdale (“CNS”) (collectively, the “Schools”) will hold a joint meeting open to the public at the foregoing time and place.  The Board may discuss and take action concerning any matter listed on the agenda and the Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the agenda, with the exception of public hearings set for a specific time.  One or more members of the Board may participate in the meeting by telephonic communications.
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3) the Board may vote to go into Executive Session, which will not be open to the public, for legal advice concerning any item on the agenda. The Board’s attorney may appear telephonically.

This is the time for the public to comment on issues within the Governing Boards jurisdiction. Speakers will be given one minute to share their comments.  State statute prohibits the Governing Board from discussing an item that is not on the agenda and Governing Board members are not permitted to discuss or take legal action on matters raised during the call to the public, unless such matters are properly noticed for discussion and legal action.  At the conclusion of each public comment, Arizona law only allows the Governing Board to respond to criticism, request that staff review a matter or request that a matter be added to a future agenda.  The Public is discouraged from using this portion of the Agenda to make complaints against school personnel or persons connected with the Schools.  Rather, the public is encouraged to use the Schools’ internal procedures for this purpose.

Charter schools are required to approve fees for extracurriculars and clubs annually A.R.S. §15-342 (24).  Proposed fees are determined by actual expenses associated with the activity.  Previous year's approved fees were a flat fee of $200 per activity.  Tier structure of fees are more in alignment with audit guidance.  Proposed: Tier 1: $50, Tier 2: $100 Tier 3: $200

  D. Presentation of IT analysis
   
At the request of the board, Dan Black has conducted an analysis of the IT programs and services of Candeo for the purpose of informing the board.
V. Summary of current events (CP/CNS)
 
The executive director, presiding officer, or a member of the Board may present a brief summary of current events.  However, pursuant to ARS 38-431.02(K) the Board may not propose, discuss, deliberate or take legal action on any matter in the summary unless the specific matter is properly noticed for legal action.
