Facilities concern:

Electricity and HVAC issues: 

• Provision in 21-22 lease extension says the church is responsible for repairs. 
• A new priest came on staff and suggested the lease extension was reversed back to original contract, not acknowledging the amendment
• Temperature concerns in the school building
• Teachers brought in personal heaters that blew a fuse
  • Fuse box is 100% melted 
• Early dismissal today (1/24). School is closed tomorrow (1/25)
  • Informed SCSC and parents 
  • Push to reopen school on 1/26
• Options to resolve problem:
  • Take on responsibility of replacing/repairing HVAC and fight church legally on back end 
  • Begin legal action and/or negotiations with church so they can take on responsibility
• Previous HVAC issues
  • The church hired someone to fix the HVAC issues before 
  • EPA violation based on leak stoppage 
• MS heat stopped working also. MS landlord has committed to fixing the issue
• 2 HVAC contractors will come to AUA tomorrow to give a quote & timeline
• Is remote learning an option?
• Consider amending financial policies for emergencies
