Call the Meeting to Order

A. Williamson called a meeting of the board of directors of Atlanta Unbound Academy to order on Sunday Jul 12, 2020 at 2:05 PM.

Approve Minutes

J. Green made a motion to approve the minutes from June 14, 2020.
L. Belvitt seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. General Announcements

A.

Juneteenth Fundraiser - $30,240.32

  • Some payments are still pending
  • Relationship Management
  • Donor Base
SCSC monitoring visit will be onsite - date confirmed 
  • Complete pre-visit survey by June 22nd 

III. Committee Reports

A.

Financial Committee - review June financials

Treasurer (Candace Ramsey-Brown) provided an overview of the June financial report for cash flow

A.

Final Budget Vote

  • Further conversation to discuss school nutrition program 
  • Costs related to recruitment and enrollment  
L. Belvitt made a motion to Approve the FY 20 Operations Budget.
J. Funderburk seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

V. School Leader Report

Enrollment

  • 117 students engaged in enrollment process

School Readiness

  • 11 employees hired 
  • Facilities are up to date
  • Uniform samples are complete
  • School outdoor sign has been ordered; City permit unavailable due to COVID operations however the City of College Park provided a voicemail and letter confirming permission to proceed

C.

Covid19 Plan

School leader provided feedback on the survey results which will be used to help make a decision on the Opening plan. (Data as of 06/11/2020)
  • 66% say they will send their child with hybrid
  • 45% say they will send their child with 100% in person
  • 64% of families are concerned regardless of scenario
  • Teachers are concerned about their health and safety 
  • In person, Hybrid, Virtual are the opening school models for consideration 
  • Discussed pushing back school start date to: August 24th

  • Board members committed to LKES training confirmed
