Students have been taking the IREAD practice test with average score of 57%. Students will take the final IREAD test in March 2021 with goal of 85% passing rate. S. McCoy, Committee Member, asked what the goal for student test scores is. A. Berns stated that for schools to be proficient in IREAD they need 60-79% of students to be proficient on test. N. Tuttle presented the benchmark and assessment completion schedule for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Panorama staff and 3-8th grade student survey data shows areas of growth in comparison to spring 2020 survey results. The addition of the third instructional coach has been helpful with coaches providing feedback on lessons, observations and data input. S. McCoy, Committee Member, asked what the role of the coaches is. A. Berns stated that the three coaches focus on instructional support and are assigned 12-13 teachers. Short teacher observations are 3-5 minutes and long teacher observations are 30 minutes.
The Principal will meet with each teacher in January to review performance data, celebrations and areas of improvement. During the second semester, the Sped and ESL team will be included in grade level teacher meetings to help teachers be intentional around meeting student needs.
The Principal will get staff feedback to create three 2021-2022 school year calendar proposals. A 2021-2022 school year calendar recommendation will be presented to the board to vote in January 2021.
