Edison School of the Arts Mission is to continue to be an educational and artful resource for all students, parents, community, and staff members by consistent and focused professional development, invitational practices by all, utilizing quarterly and annual reviews.  We will continue to develop our educational and arts aesthetic by expanding our arts experiences, exposure, and partnerships

Edison School of the Arts Vision is to provide an environment that promotes high academic and creative achievement through implementation of visual and performing arts course programming. We encourage students to become responsible citizens who are culturally diverse. We develop lifelong learners, appreciators, and consumers of the arts.

Call the Meeting to Order

T. Givens called a meeting of the Facilities & Safety Committee of Edison School of the Arts to order on Wednesday Dec 9, 2020 at 4:03 PM.

T. Givens made a motion to adopt the agenda.
C. Jones seconded the motion.

Approval of Minutes

T. Givens made a motion to approve the minutes from Facilities & Safety Committee Meeting on 10-27-20.
N. Tuttle seconded the motion.

III. Facilities & Safety

A.

100% Virtual Learning and Tentative 1/19/20 Return to in Person Learning

C. Jones, Director of Operations, presented the facilities and safety report. Currently 100% of students are virtual learning. About 13 staff members are working in the building while the remainder staff work remotely. IPS has authorize that special education students are allowed to come to school for in person instruction. Currently Edison has 0 sped students that have in person instruction. Weekly COVID-19 positive test case reports are submitted to IPS and Indiana government gateway portal.

N. Tuttle, Executive Director, did a walk-through of the building last week. The custodial staff have all the things that they need to clean and prepare the building for tentatively 100% in person learning on January 19th. The school safety committee continues to hold monthly office hour meetings as needed for staff to review the emergency preparedness plan. Core Planning Strategies continues to work with IPS on building renovations and have completed the exterior lighting.
