  G. Louisiana Legislature's passage of House Bills 71 and 334 Discuss Charles Jones 5 m
   

HB 71 requires display of the Ten Commandments in every elementary, secondary, and postsecondary education classroom and in each building the school uses. Minimal size of poster is 11" x 14", must be central focus of the poster, in large print.

 

HB 334 authorizes school boards to provide for chaplains to serve in public schools as employees or on a volunteer basis.

 

Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.

GuideOne Insurance informed RRCA via email that it would be issuing a check for $4,955.47 for the bus repair needed for bus L4.  RRCA will pay the $1000 difference to cover the cost of the repairs needed.  

 

Reminder:  PO# 23-78 for $5955.47 was approved during the 3/28/24 board meeting.

  
  I. GuideOne Insurance Renewal for 24-25SY Vote Charles Jones 5 m
   

RRCA completed the GuideOne Insurance School K-12 supplemental application and submitted to Brown & Brown.  RRCA was informed by email on 4/17/24 that the renewal premium for 5/24-5/25 will be $28,272.83.  There was a $2,659 decrease in total cost from the 23-24 premium. coverage is for property casual, auto, & workers' compensation.  The Proposal Premium Summary is provided.

  
  J. ADP SUI Update   Charles Jones 2 m
   

ADP sent a update on 4/10/24 informing RRCA that they had received our Louisiana State Unemployment Insurance rate notice. There was no change in the rate for Louisiana.  Supporting documents are provided.

  
  K. eSER Nightly Download Notice from the LDOE   Charles Jones 2 m
   

RRCA received a notice from EDgear per the LDOE that they did not have a signed data sharing agreement from RRCA allowing EDgear to import our SPED data.   The formed was completed by the C Jones and sent to the LDOE(ldedata@la.gov).

  
  L. Civil Rights Data Collection Submission 2021-2022   Charles Jones 2 m
   

RRCA completed its civil rights data collection submission due to the Office for Civil Rights to avoid being considered non-compliant.  This is a term and condition of receiving Federal financial assistance.  RRCA's certification packet is provided for review.

The final installment payment was mailed to Education Explosion on 4/11/24.

  • After school tutoring ended on 4/18/24 for Leap 2025 testing.  Tutoring will continue through 5/9/24 for final Leap 360 interim assessment #2.
  • Leap2025 testing schedule and class scheduled were distributed on 4/11/24.
  • Leap2025 test security professional development was help on 4/11/24.
  • Leap2025 prep rally was held on 4/19/24.
  • All items were removed from wall and ceiling prior to the start of testing on 4/22/24.
  • Incentives have been provided for participation in Leap2025 activities from 4/15/24-5/3/24.
  
  C. Management Agreement with Friends of Ed Explosion Discuss Charles Jones 10 m
   

Information will be shared about the language that will need to be a part of the management agreement with Friends of Impact Charter and RRCA Board members as it pertains to the learning pod under Ed Explosion.

The executive director to update the board on the request to restrict RRCA funds by Ed Explosion to financially support new CMO taking over RRCA for 24-25SY.

They only contact with the LDOE discussing the transition was on 4/3/24.  No other contact has occurred.  RRCA's point person from the LDOE has not been determined.

RRCA board to vote on school staff positions for closure of RRCA beginning 7/1/24.

1.  PO# 23-76 Dr. Eric J. Jones proposal. Item was table at the 3/14/28 and 3/28/24 board meeting so research could be done by board members prior to voting.

2.  PO# 23-84 to Avoyelles Parish School Board for rent payments from June 2024-November 2024.

3.  PO# 23-85 to EDgear of America for purchasing JCampus for the 24-25SY.  JCampus is RRCA's student information system that reports to the LDOE through EdLink.

4.  PO# 23-86 to Curriculum Associates for the purchase of i-Ready for the 24-25SY.

5.  PO# 23-87 to MealTime for the purchase of the lunch program software for the 24-25SY.

6.  PO# 23-88 to IXL for the purchase of their curriculum resources for all core subjects for the 24-25SY.

7.  PO# 23-89 funds needed to operation for the 1st five months of the 24-25SY as a learning pod under Impact Charter Academy.

 

  
  H. Salary Request from Executive Director Vote Charles Jones 5 m
   

Salary request submitted by executive director for work done from November 2023-April 2024 to facilitate bringing on a new charter management operator to take over RRCA's charter contract with BESE after the December 12, 2023 non-renewal determination.  Requested amount is $12,000.
