C. Lipscomb called a meeting of the Governance Committee of Breakthrough Public Schools to order on Friday May 8, 2026 at 9:33 AM.

Approve March Governance Committee Minutes

S. Steinhouse made a motion to approve the minutes from BPS Board Governance Committee Meeting on 03-25-26.
C. Lipscomb seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Board Development & Retreat Planning

  • This engagement positions the Board not only for alignment, but for disciplined execution and measurable governance impact. 
  • Phase I delivers a data-informed retreat grounded in stakeholder voice and organizational realities. 
  • Phase II ensures sustained implementation through structured monitoring, capacity building, and strategic accountability. Together, these phases build a high-performing Board capable of driving system-level outcomes, strengthening the Board–CEO partnership, and aligning governance with organizational performance and growth.

Board Nomination

  • The committee reviewed current nominations and aligned on appointments.
