Call the Meeting to Order
C. Lipscomb called a meeting of the Governance Committee of Breakthrough Public Schools to order on Wednesday Feb 18, 2026 at 8:34 AM.

Approve January Governance Committee Minutes
J. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes from BPS Board Governance Committee Meeting on 01-14-26.
C. Lipscomb seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Committee Business
- FY27 Board Nomination Process
- Reviewed names that have come forward as nominees.
- No conversations yet, just reviewing the referrals. We'll align on who to reach out to next.
- Juliet & Cecil to drive follow-up to shore up the list of nominees, interview guidance, and timelines.
- We'll assign board members to have initial conversations. At our March meeting, we'll rank based on interest, timing, and availability.
- June 2026 Retreat
- Launch board development work at the retreat. Unique opportunity given strategic planning and institutional knowledge rolling off.
- Development work would align with strategy work and governance work.
- Andrew has a referral for the group to work with, Cecil to vet, and align.
- Align operating norms, and make sure we're driving in the same direction.
