Call the Meeting to Order
N. Woodson called a meeting of the board of directors of The Path School to order on Tuesday Mar 19, 2024 at 5:07 PM.

Approve Minutes
A. Burtner made a motion to approve the minutes from January 2024 Board meeting on 01-16-24.
A. Adkins seconded the motion.

- New Indiana Laws:
- Senate Bill 1:
- Enforces holding back 3rd graders who fail IREAD-3.
- Requires 2nd graders sit for the test starting next school year while also offering summer school courses to students who are struggling to read or are at risk of failing IREAD exam.
- Senate Bill 282: Aims to cut down truancy or unexcused absences.
- Requires schools to intervene early & hold parent meetings in elementary students miss more than 5 days without an excuse.
- Senate Bill 185: Requires school create a policy prohibiting cell phones during instructional time.

Finance Committee
Meeting held 3/13/24:
- Path School Financials reviewed:
- Statement of Activity
- Budget vs. Actual
- Major topics discussed: ESSER vs. SIG and the difference. Theo to prepare a report for us to review in future meetings.
- Charter facility grant of $300k: Will be focused on cleaning (janitorial) for the next school year.
- Payments over $10k or more discussed
B.
Education Committee
Did not meet in January or February 2024. Looking for a new Committee Chair. Board members are asked to send their interest to Board Chair, Nicole Woodson.

Governance Committee
Meeting held 2/27/24:
- Discussed board recruitment efforts
- Get on Board event 6/25/24 planning
D.
IPS Pricing Policy
- The PATH School currently uses IPS services as a part of the district and the cost passes through IPS first.
- This new policy will ask that The PATH School pay IPS for services rendered as needed e.g. bus, technology.
- Details to be discussed at a future meeting.

Board Recruitment Informational Session
To be scheduled on 4/2 in the evening. Details to come. Board members are encouraged to attend. Theo Brannum and Tia Taylor will represent The PATH School.
