B. Call the Meeting to Order

C. Craig-Chardon called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Mission Preparatory to order on Thursday Nov 30, 2023 at 4:01 PM.

C. Approve Minutes

C. Craig-Chardon made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic committee meeting on 09-21-23.

D. Goldberg seconded the motion.

The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A. Executive Director's Update

Director absent.

B. Review academic dashboards & other topics

Review of instructional priorities, academic celebrations and field trips, new cafeteria furniture linked to PBIS initiatives (lunch pass for coveted spots in cafeteria; another opportunity is Class Dojo points), workshops for TAs to build foundational instructional skills, revamped wellness team. TNTP coaching launched and fully implemented weekly coaching- ex. anticipating student questions, what does an exemplar finish to an activity look like, etc. Step Up Tutoring launched in grades 3-7; students pulled during enrichment blocks or tutor pushes into classroom. 2023 CAASPP Data- over 40% of students met expectations in English and just under 40% in math. Compared to schools in a mile radius, MP was ahead of most of the pack. Science performance low for all schools (20% for MP). MP doing well compared to other schools, the district and the state with serving ELL, students with disabilities and Latine students.
