D. Goldberg called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Mission Preparatory to order on Monday May 1, 2023 at 4:00 PM.

II. Academic Excellence
A.
Executive Director update
Cynthia shared several updates, including:
- 90% of staff is being retained going into the next year
- Improved instructional supports (coaching, PD, etc.) is being rolled out with the support of TNTP. New project-based learning curriculums will be rolled out the year after next, after a strong foundation of teaching & learning has been laid with all staff
- In future years, there may also be an opportunity to revisit the compensation structure to ensure it aligns with & supports what defines a great Mission Prep teacher
- iReady testing is happening next week
- 8th graders are being admitted to fantastic high schools. However, several schools have had more endowment pressure this year, resulting in lower financial aid packages.
B.
Brainstorm / Discuss academic goals for the upcoming school years
- TNTP is supporting the school to develop a dashboard that ties to regular practices & improvement efforts
- The dashboard will prominently feature both teacher observations and MAP scores
- Next year will be the beginning of the data that will go into our charter re-submission
