Silent Dance Party
The Silent Dance Party was on March 13 and 14 and the kids all had an AMAZING time! Thank you so much to all the wonderful volunteers who helped make the Silent Dance Party happen. We had so many wonderful volunteers helping throughout the week with decoration prep, making song playlists, decorating the night before. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Loteria
Loteria Night was Friday, March 14th. It was great to see everyone there. Again, we want to thank all the wonderful volunteers who helped with setup, chair and table donations, and in-person volunteers the night of this event too. We really appreciated all your help.

Friendship Day Celebrations
Friendship Day Celebrations were on Friday, March 21. The kids had a great time and were happy to be able to celebrate this day… even though it was a little late. Thanks to all the room parents for planning these amazing celebrations for the students and to all the parents who donated snacks and supplies for the party and/or were able to volunteer that day. The students really enjoy these celebrations, and we appreciate all you do to make them happen.

Art Lit
All Art Lit sessions impacted by the school closure have been rescheduled and students are wrapping up their projects on Marc Chagall this week. Our next, and last, Art Lit project for the year will cover the work of Georges Seurat. Those projects will start next week so please look on VicNet for volunteer opportunities in your child’s class and sign up. Please remember that you do not need to be an artist yourself to volunteer. The Art Lit team sets everything up for you and provides detailed lesson plans and project guidance. It really is a super fun way to volunteer in your child’s classroom. Thank you to our AMAZING Art Lit Team for all your hard work this year.

Volunteer Opportunities
We want to welcome our 3 new Volunteer Coordinators to the Team. Maureen Inouye-Harrison, Erin Teune, and Chrissy Heiberg will be joining the team and have already started to train. Thank you so much for stepping up and filling these roles. Reminder – Arco asks that all families contribute at least 20 hours of volunteer time by the end of the year. Check VicNet for upcoming opportunities including, Art Lit, Library Days, Silent Dance Party Volunteers, Loteria Night Volunteers… we have a lot of upcoming events and really rely on all our wonderful volunteers to make them happen. Reminder: Register for VicNet if you haven’t already done so. There are many ways to volunteer at Arco and they will all be posted on VicNet so make sure you’re registered. If you have any questions about VicNet or if you want to get more involved with one of our teams reach out to the volunteer coordinators at volunteer@arcoirisschool.org. --- Please also reach out if you are not seeing volunteer opportunities for your child’s class so you don’t miss out on anything.
