Erin Hatch attended to provide the Board report.  We're working on the Annual Student investment account report to submit.  This is required for some of the funding that we receive.  3 Board members attended a charter school conference to connect with other schools and network.  We received additional funds for Art Lit; thanks to everyone for that.  BSD did not approve for Arco Iris to expand under our current charter.  We would need to submit a new charter agreement, but we aren't tied to BSD school district area, so we're expanding and looking at real estate in Tigard/Tualatin.  Looking at staff improvement, we conducted EasyCBM testing, are working on better communication, hiring teachers from Mexico, and offering training in more of the subjects to teachers.  Received a grant to provide mentorship for our Assistant Director.  Open Enrollment is coming up.

Next Restaurant Night is Wednesday and Thursday, December 11-12, Papa Murphy's at the corner of Murray/Allen.  This is an online only fundraiser.  Use the code CARE when ordering online.  

We raised $642.46 at the November restaurant night including orders from Alaska, California, and Utah.

Bottle Drop

• The Holiday Give BONUS was held November 15th – December 2nd. There was a 20% bonus on cans and bottles during this period.
• We raised $464 during the Holiday Give Bonus and have raised a total of $1300 this year! Way to go families!!
• Please pick up the “Blue Bottle Drop” bags in the office lobby if you need more before the holidays! Holidays are a great time to collect extra bottles and cans especially if you’re having family and friends over!
• You can fill the bags with any eligible bottles or cans that have the “OR 10” code on them. 
• Please DO NOT drop off filled bags at the office.

• 2024 Holiday Giving – Each year we make an effort to ensure that all of our wonderful staff are included in holiday gifts and are encouraging families to give to a general fund for the holidays, instead of purchasing individual gifts for staff.  Through our combined effort, we can give each staff member a great gift and show them our appreciation for all their hard work. • Stock the Break Room was Tuesday, December 6th for 2rd grade families.  This was a lighter collection, so if you would like to donate to this, please drop items by the front office.  The breakroom is pretty empty right now.

Friday, December 20 for Winter Celebrations.  Room Parents are finalizing plans with their teachers and will be getting the details out to parents soon if they haven’t already!

• Check VicNet for volunteer opportunities to help with these celebrations! There will be opportunities for volunteers to help in the classroom during the celebration as well as opportunities for volunteers to donate supplies and snacks for the celebrations! 
• Remember, every $10 you spend on class donations counts as 1 hour of volunteering and counts toward the yearly goal of 20 hours per family!
• All snacks need to come from the school’s allergy-approved snack list so please don’t send in any additional, non-requested, snacks with your students. Thank you for keeping all our students safe!
• If you want to take your student home after the celebration, you must notify the office beforehand and check your student out at the front office afterward.

• Our second Art Literacy project is starting this week! This project will be based on Canadian Inuit art. 
• There are still open spots for parent volunteers to come in and help your child’s class with these projects that are posted on VicNet! Please check and see if there are any openings in your child’s class and sign-up!!
• Please remember that you do not need to be an artist yourself to volunteer! The Art Lit team sets everything up for you and provides detailed lesson plans and project guidance! It really is a super fun way to volunteer in your child’s classroom!

• Family Movie Night will be Friday, December 13th, from 6-8pm in the gym.
• We’ll be showing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and we hope you and your families can join us!
• You can bring pillows, back supports, and blankets but no chairs as they can damage the gym floor.
• We’ll have a few snacks available for purchase, but you are also free to bring your own nut-free, dry snacks and spill proof water bottles. We will have free popcorn and a water filling station. Please only bring water to drink as sticky/sugary drinks can damage the gym floor.
• We’ll be sending out a Google Form soon – please RSVP so we know who is coming!  Attendance is capped at 200 persons for this event.

• La Noche de Película Familiar será el viernes 13 de diciembre de 6 a 8 p. m. en el gimnasio.
• ¡Estaremos mostrando Nublado con posibilidad de albóndigas y esperamos que usted y sus familias puedan unirse a nosotros!
• Puedes traer almohadas, respaldos y mantas, pero no sillas, ya que pueden dañar el suelo del gimnasio.
• Tendremos algunos refrigerios disponibles para comprar, pero también puedes traer tus propios refrigerios secos sin nueces y botellas de agua a prueba de derrames. Tendremos palomitas de maíz gratis y una estación de servicio de agua. Solo traiga agua para beber, ya que las bebidas pegajosas o azucaradas pueden dañar el piso del gimnasio.

The box for uniform donations is always open and is in the school lobby near the lost and found. You can drop off donations at any time. If you would like to look through the uniform exchange for items for your child, please contact the office to set up a time to come in and check out what’s available.

Lost and found is located in the school lobby. If your student is missing any items, send them to look for them in the lost and found, or stop by at pick-up or drop-off, but please be mindful not to interfere with kids entering and exiting the building.
