Uniform Exchange
The donation box for uniforms is located in the lobby at school. It is always ready to accept uniforms. If you would like to look through the uniforms at school, contact the school office to arrange a time to look at the uniforms.

Lost and Found
Lost and found is located in the school lobby. It is overflowing. Volunteers are going through it to try to organize and return labeled items, but there are many articles without names. Please come look to see if your student left something behind. At some point, items will be taken and donated to the Beaverton Clothes Closet. Ample notification will be provided for you to come browse and claim items prior to them being donated.

Volunteer Opportunities

Room parent drawings were held this past Monday and two room parents were selected per class. Once they accept the position, then names of room parents will be released.

Fundraising
One of our biggest fundraisers of the year is starting soon. The Move-a-thon will be October 7-18. We are hoping for 100% participation this year. Each student will participate in the Move-a-thon, regardless of whether they collected any donations. There are various stations that they participate in events such as strength, flexibility and balance, recreation, rest/water. We will be looking for volunteers to help during the event on October 18 at the various stations so keep an eye out on Vicnet. As a charter school, we receive public funding, but only 85% of the funding of other schools. We also have other costs, such as rent, mortgage, utilities, and technology costs. This fundraiser is one way that we cover the difference between our funding and our necessary budget. This is one way to meet the fundraising target of $1000 per student. Along with the Move-a-thon, we will have Spirit Week October 14-18. Specific themes for each day will be announced soon.
The next restaurant night is tomorrow, Thursday, October 3, at Mod Pizza on Scholls Ferry. 25%
We did well at Chipotle last month.
Restaurant Night for November is a nationwide Panda Express online fundraiser. Share this event with family and friends.
Bottle Drop collection was successful.
Next collection will be during the bonus period. We're waiting to find out the exact dates for this event. During the bonus period we receive an extra 20% on everything we turn in.
We are looking for a volunteer to pick up bottle drop bags over in Clackamas. If this is something you are able help with, look on Vicnet.

Library
First library visits of the year were last week. It was a non-typical week due to school pictures, but the normal schedule for library days is Tuesday: 4/5, Wednesday: 2/3, Thursday: K/1 on every other week. Please read the books and return as soon as you are finished so that library volunteers can get them back on the shelf for someone else to check out.

International Walk and Roll to School Day
International Walk + Roll to School Day is next Wednesday, a week from today. Make a plan now for how your family will participate: coordinate with a friend to walk to school together, ride bikes as a family. Choosing to walk, bike, and bus to school is one of the biggest ways students can help the planet, it's a great way to start the day, and it also happens to be really FUN!
M.
Book Character Day
Thursday, Oct. 31st is Character Dress Up Day: Costumes must be school appropriate, no weapons, no blood, no full costume or mask covering the face or promote any type of violence. As per the dress code, costumes should not be revealing and should be comfortable for students to wear all
day. Keep in mind students have PE and need to be able to use the bathroom on their own.

Announcements
Picture retake day November 6.
Next PTO meeting November 6, 7:00pm.
A question was asked about the semi-trucks parking on Stratus. Jessica shared that this is something to be addressed at the Beaverton Traffic Commission. They hold meetings every first Thursday at 7pm. This commission meeting would be good for a large group of parents to attend to discuss the truck situation.
Next Board meeting is Thursday, October 17, 6:15pm on Zoom.
