No School Days
We have upcoming no school on January 15, January 26, and February 2.
C.
Coffee with the Director
Coffee with the director will be this Friday, January 5, after morning drop off. We will be meeting in Room 113. Look for an update on whether to meet behind the school for admittance to room 113 or in front of the school to be escorted to the room.

Fundraising Update
December fundraiser at Crumbl Cookie raised $257.99
January 20 is Red Robin fundraiser all day at the Washington Square location.
February 12 is Chipotle on Hall from 4-8pm.

Teacher Appreciation
Holiday giving was able to provide $120 gift cards to each teacher along with a cute cup made by parent Melina.

Library Days
Library days are next week. Please look for any library books at home and return them to the school. Students are only allowed to check out three books at a time, so if they already have that many checked out they will not be allowed to get new books.

Uniform Exchange/Lost and Found
Uniform exchange will be this Friday during Coffee with the Director in room 113. Feel free to come grab more uniforms.

Auction
The annual school auction fundraiser is coming up. This is one of our largest fundraisers. We could use volunteers to help get this event ready. There are opportunities for a variety of volunteer tasks. Please reach out to auction@arcoirisschool.org if you can help or have questions.

Next Meeting
The next PTO meeting will be February 7 at 6:30pm.
Josh Guerra attended as the Board rep and gave a report. Met for Dec meeting at school. SIA grant application review. Looking at grant writing service to help target certain grants. Charter school capital marketing proposal. Board hired a consulting group to help with marketing. It appears this helped to increase enrollment. This helps us secure more funds. Will continue with this marketing service. Congrats to a successful glow party and teacher appreciation. Internal academic assessment showed academic improvement above state average. Using EasyCBM as internal assessment guide. Will be comparing fall vs. winter data in Feb/March. Looking at a grant to purchase Spanish early literacy program adopted by Oregon Dept of Ed. Staff communication is going well based on a survey sent to staff. Fundraising is going well. Will be a mid-year survey sent to families. We had 3 families leave kinder, 1-2 in first thru third. We're hoping the spots get filled. Open enrollment Jan 8-Feb 9. March 22 is the zoom lottery. Doing outreach to Spanish preschools in the area. Will be a few informational sessions and school tours for incoming families. Must attend informational session in order to attend tour. School was audited and came through with no red flags. Looking at grants for finances. Playground update: we purchased the mobile playground equipment and set up matting. There was some confusion and the play equipment cannot be used in the covered area. Looking at how to make this work operationally.
