Board report

Andrew Nelson was present to give a report.  We apply for grants as a large part of our school funding.  Grants take into account family participation in both number of families and hours per family.  Please remember to log your hours into Vicnet to help with this volunteer tracking.  Enrollment is up this year and we will be getting just a little more money from Beaverton School District since our enrollment is higher than we previously reported to BSD.  The beginning of the school year has gone well, so thank you to all families for volunteering and how well this year has gone so far.

B.

Move-a-thon

This is our first large fundraiser of the year and leads off our Community Giving campaign.  Our target is $750 per student, and the Move-a-thon counts as part of the per student fundraising goal.  Look for volunteer opportunities related to the Move-a-thon.

We are doing school-wide incentives rather than individual prizes.

The Arco Iris polos have been ordering and are coming soon.

D.

Vicnet

Sign up for Vicnet! It takes a few days for Volunteer Coordinators to approve anyone who signs up or approve requests for volunteers.  We have a goal of registering more than 350 volunteers registered on Vicnet and getting at least 8000 volunteer hours.

E.

Pick up and drop off

Please be mindful and do not park in the parking lots of businesses in the area.  Be mindful of other businesses.  This is a safety and liability issue for us and the other businesses.  There is one Auction Parking Spot behind the school that is reserved for the family that purchased the spot at the auction last year.  This spot is for that family only.

F.

Fundraising

Thanks to everyone that came out to Joe's/Choza.  We raised $396.  Next Restaurant night is Nov 15-16 at Papa Murphy's.  Add the code when ordering and we'll get money for your order.

Bottle Drop collection event in November.  You can turn in bags yourself at any time.  There is a bonus period for bottle drop coming in Nov/Dec so stay tuned for more info.

G.

Recess/playground

Students have reported not having items to play with during recess.  We're working on this.  We're also working on what to paint on the asphalt for kids to play with.  Foursquare has already been painted.  We're looking at a fence to keep the balls from escaping.

H.
