PTO Revamp/Organization and Open Positions
We are still working on the revamp. We are updating the bylaws with the new positions. We will post the new/open positions on the website and send it out to families for anyone interested. There will be various Teams (like a committee but not called a committee) that anyone can join as well. Reach out if you are interested in joining the Communication Team to help us open the lines of communication between staff, teachers, students, and families. We also have an open position for President in Training, another Fundraising person, another person to help with Yearbook and another person for Spirit Wear. We could also use people to help with Art Lit.
Elections for PTO positions (President in Training, Volunteer Coordinator, Fundraising) will be held in May.
Still working on the School PTO Calendar. The calendar will cover the summer plus the entire school year. It will have summer playdates, uniform exchange dates, school activities and more.
C.
Volunteer Coordinators
The Board approved the Volgistics platform so we will use the month of July to switch from ParentBooker to Volgistics. Look for communications about signing up for the new platform in July/August.
Please make sure that you are entering your hours if you need to enter them manually. Volunteer hours help with getting grants.

Fundraising
Last night was Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant night. Total sales for dine-in was $1665. That is about $249 raised, not including online orders. The restaurant also has a rewards for reading program. Check into this to see about getting a free kids meal.
FUNDrive collection had one collection event and it went well. We will have another collection event this Friday, April 28. Soft goods, books, bags, linens, etc. We need about 125 large black garbage bags for this event.
We don't have the final auction numbers. The in-person event was a lot of fun. For anyone who bought an item, emails are coming with instructions for item collection. Auction parties are still open to sign up for.
We have raised $150,000 for the Gap Fund. The goal is $300,000.
Bottle drop raised $828 for the bonus period, which should receive a $165 bonus. Not counting the bonus, we have raised $2509 this school year.
E.
Uniform Exchange
There will be one collection event at the end of the year to turn in uniforms.
F.
Spirit Wear
You are still able to order Spirit Wear. We are filling orders with our existing stock while we search for a new vendor. If you have requests for items, let the PTO know. We hope to sell it earlier next year and hopefully have some available at summer playdates to check sizes.
G.
Yearbook
Yearbooks are on sale now for $15. All families must purchase one in order to receive one. Any families wanting to donate a yearbook to another family should donate to the school and email Perla so that she can order additional yearbooks based on the amount of donations received. Last day to order is May 8. Reminder: if you declined the FERPA permission form, your student's name and photo will not be included in the yearbook.
H.
Art Lit
The teachers are busy and can't fit Art Lit into this school year. We will be prepared to start it next year. Hoping to talk to the Art Lit Director about getting more spanish-language artists involved.
I.
Familias Unidas
April 18 meeting was about family values. We created a family values word cloud. Next meeting is a virtual meeting Tuesday, May 9.

Today was office staff appreciation day. We brought in flower, balloons, a poster, and pastries. The office staff loved the gifts. Stock the break room collection is May 3 for second/third grade. See ParentBooker for suggestions. June collection will be kinder/first. May 8-12 is Teacher Appreciation. Volunteers are working with students on a project for this. We will send a flyer detailing events for the week. Sunday night will be chalk-the-walk for the teachers, Monday is donuts/coffee, Tuesday is students wear teachers favorite color, Wednesday is sweet treats, Thursday is bring a letter/drawing of appreciation, Friday is catered lunch.

Next Meeting
Next meeting is May 31 at 6pm. Elections will be held at this meeting.
Board member Andrew Nelson attended. There will be a survey coming out soon for feedback for playground options. Please fill out the survey. Arco Iris is always looking for grants. The playground committee requires parents to be involved. Andrew will check on the process for parent involvement if there are other parents interested in joining the committee. If you come across a grant opportunity, please pass along to the Board for consideration. The new Executive Director, Jesus, has already started engaging with Chris and the Board. We are very excited for him to start.
