Fundraising

Restaurant Night:

We raised $451.18 at Red Robin.  Thanks to everyone that came out that night.  The next restaurant night is November 14 at Panda Express.  This is a nationwide event that donates 28% of sales back to the school.  Please share the code with friends and family.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the wonderful Arco Iris students, families, and friends that helped support our school by participating in the Move-a-thon this year!
Together we raised $77,743 in donations + $12,370 in corporate matches for a total of $90,113! Way to go families!! Our students worked hard this year to earn their Glow in the Dark Silent Dance Party (Date TBD) by reaching our $70,000 goal!
The top earning classes who earned a snack and game party with JJ were:

  • Maestra Constantino's kindergarten class AND Maestro Orozco’s 3 rd
    grade class!
  • The top classes per grade who each earned a Spirit Day of their choice were:
  • Kinder: Maestra Constantino
    1st: Maestra Melo
    2nd: Maestra Gomez
    3rd: Maestro Orozco
    4th: Maestra Martinez
    5th: Maestra Garcia
  • The top grade earning a Movie Party with a G-rated movie and snacks was: Kindergarten
  • Fandom Day (for everyone!!) will be December 5th .

Bottle Drop Holiday Give is November 15-December 2.  During this time the school will earn an extra 10% on all bottle drop donations.  We will have a school collection on Wednesday, November 19 during school pick up.  Look for the drop spot on Stratus from 3-3:30.  You can also return blue bags at any bottle drop location during this time period and we will still get the extra bonus.  We are out of blue bags in the lobby, but we will have more next week.  Stop by and pick some up.  Last year we raised $3750 for the year.  So far this year we have raised $550.

F.

Art Literacy

During the first Art Lit project students learned about eh life and work of Vincent Van Gogh.  The second art lit project will be the week after Fall Break and we will be learning about Michelangelo.  Volunteer opening will be posted on VicNet soon.

G.

Family Movie Night

Family Movie Night will be December 12.  The movie is still TBD but it will be family friendly movie appropriate for all ages.  You can bring pillows, back supports, and blankets but no chairs as they can damage the gym floor.  In years past we’ve had a few snacks available for purchase. We’re hoping to have this option available again if we have enough volunteers to help with sales!  You are also free to bring your own nut-free, dry snacks and spill proof water bottles. Please only bring
water to drink as sticky/sugary drinks can damage the gym floor.  A Google Form will be coming out soon.  Please RSVP to let us know who is coming.  One form per family and attendance is capped at 200 people for fire code.  Volunteers still need to RSVP so that we have an accurate head count.

H.

Student Winter Performance

Performances will be Thursday, December 18.  All classes will participate.  This is coordinated by staff and teachers, so be on the lookout for more information to come.

I.

Winter Class Parties

Parties will be Friday, December 19.  This is the last day before winter break.  Room parents are finalizing the plans with teachers so expect more information soon.  Keep an eye on Vicnet for sign ups for volunteering or class snacks and craft supplies.  Snacks must come from the school's approved allergy snack list, so please don't send additional snacks.

J.

Teacher Appreciation

Thank you to all third grade families that donated for stock the breakroom.  Next one is Tuesday, December 2, for second grade families.  We also brought in snacks for staff and teachers during conferences.

VicNet Registration

The school uses the VicNet/Volgistics platform for all volunteer opportunities throughout the
year so please make sure you are signed up.  New families make sure you’ve completed the Volgistics Volunteer application form and complete the background check. The background check will be sent to you a few days after your application was submitted. This will come from Verified First so make sure you’re looking for that message.  Current families please make sure you fill out the updated volunteer expectation form if you haven’t already so you’re able to volunteer. Openings won’t appear on VicNet until you have completed this.  It’s important to sign up for an account even if you’re not planning to come in as sometimes opportunities pop up that you are able to help with and it’s important to have this done before hand as the verification process can take up to a few weeks to complete and we don’t want you to miss out on anything.  Many teachers allow parents to come in as a “Mystery Reader” for their child’s birthday. You WILL need to be registered on VicNet and have completed the background check to participate in this!!
