Public Comment (In-Person): Members of the public wishing to comment in person should sign up using the provided sign-in sheet 10 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called on at the meeting. The Board may respond to public comment during the meeting. Members of the public wishing to provide hard copy written comments at the meeting must bring 8 copies. Ten minutes will be allocated for public comment, with the option of the Chair to allow more.

Call the Meeting to Order

Karen Rutherford called a meeting of the board of trustees of Pinnacles Prep Charter School to order on Wednesday Apr 19, 2023 at 6:35 PM.

Approve Consent Agenda

Oscar Licon Eusebio made a motion to approve the minutes from Monthly Board Meeting on 03-15-23.
Mario Reyes seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

CEO/School Staff Evaluation Survey

K. Rutherford, The DESE Model Staff Feedback Survey will be used for performance goals, feedback, and Jill's performance goals submitted by mid-July to the charter commission, 

 

 

Flora Fernandez made a motion to Adopt DESE Model Staff Feedback Survey.
Mario Reyes seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

III. Pinnacles Prep High School Development Update

A.

Wenatchee Valley College Update

K. Rutherford shared updates about meeting with WVC President. A letter will be written to WVC Board stating Pinnacles Prep's needs.

High School Curriculum/Staff Development Update

J. Fineis shared that two staff had the opportunity to help develop a curriculum with educurious. 

 

IV. Critical Issues Discussion

23/24 Staffing Updates

J Fineis shared positions that are being hired.

2 math teachers are hired. 

Special Education Specialist

Assistant Principal Hiring

 

B.

Scholar Happenings: Project/Place Based Learning

J Fineis, shared that all students at Pinnacles do a passion project with community impact. 

100% of 8th graders did 1-week internships, and 30+ Organizations hosted Pinnacles Prep Students.

Important dates for Quarter 4

May 6th is WA Charter Conference

Tall Timber CAMP May 10, 11 & 12

State testing in Math and ELA begins in May

Extend the school year by three days 

Stinky Cheese Man Play happening on June 6th
