Covid Report
School nurse Shelia B. provided Covid-19 high-level overview
-Shelia shared outbreak updates at Pinnacles Prep: between Jan - Feb: 26 positive cases. There is no correlation between students being infected at school
-Currently, there are zero Covid-19 cases at Pinnacles Prep
-Masks are no longer required
-Pinnacles Prep Vaccination rate is 56.9% are vaccinated, 43.1 % are not vaccinated
-There is roughly a 73 % immunity rate
Shelia is facilitating 10% weekly random testing of cohorts and staff
- information has been sent to parents regarding random testing
-Parents are able to get a free Covid at-home test at Pinnacles
IV. Principal Report
A.
Discussion Items
J Fineis: Shared performance goals must be met and growth goals have been ratified and changed
- MAP growth goals will change to 50-59%
- 3rd Map assessment will be given to see growth goals around the 3rd week of April
R. Wray would like to see 90% growth goals
J. Fineis predicts that in 3-5 years Pinnacles will be able to see 90% growth goals
Currently
- 57% of 7th-grade students met spring growth goals
- 41% of 6th-grade students met spring growth goals
Commission made recommendations to change growth goals:
SEL Survey will be given to students prior to Spring break.
- SEL measures social-emotional learning
New student enrollment
J. Fineis shares New student enrollment update:
6 grade is full with a waitlist of 8 students
- Recruitment for 6th grade will occur during the summer
7th grade is full
- With a healthy waitlist
8th grade has 12 seats open
- We will continue to recruit
R. Wray has observed that more families seek alternative high schools than middles schools
Levy and funding equalization updates
J. Fineis shares levy and funding equalization update:
It's a 1-time enrichment funding for schools that have less than 800 students.
- Pinnacles prep will receive $278 dollars per pupil
- A total of $33,000 that will be allocated to Pinnacles Prep through the initiative
Hiring update for 8th-grade
J. Fineis shares hiring updates:
Currently on round 3 of interviews
There are 4 rounds of interviews
1. Application review
2. Phone interview
3. Performance evaluation with a lesson plan and teaching video
4. In-person interview
The average salary for a teacher is $63,000 '
There will be 3 new hires
- 2 math teachers
- 1 humanities teacher
Special ed specialist is going on leave with new special ed being hired internally
- additionally looking to hire 2-3 special ed para
8th-grade math is algebra and geometry
Americorp volunteer will be hired to teach 6th-grade science
Plazas comunitarias update
J. Fineis shares plazas comunitarias update:
It's a program that wants to help Mexican nationals complete elementary education
- 2 teachers will be coming from Mexico to teach the Latinx community
A stipend will be provided for the 2 visiting teachers to assist Pinnacles Prep teachers and work with students
A special meeting may need to be called to learn more about plazas comunitarias
Latinx night
Spanish speaking only event on March 26th
There will be informational booths with resources provided at pinnacles prep to current Latinx families
J. Fineis welcomes feedback and ideas around different celebrations that could happen.
Exhibition night
March 30th at the Wenatchee museum
-6th grade will do a model UN around amazonian tribes
-7th grade is studying Washington state history and will present murals and artifices at the Wenatchee museum
Q4 updates:
Health and fitness and sustainability around staying healthy and fit.
Evergreen mountain alliance will facilitate mountain biking for students
Students will go wildflower hiking, Geo-cashing, Frisbee golfing, and rock climbing

Governance
R. Wray shares there will be 2 more board members added
Timelines are as follows:
- will evaluate what skills are needed for the board
- April and May will be recruitment time
- June there will be a vote
- July will do new board member orientation
- August, board member starts
B.
Finance
T. Mcgee shares finance report
- budgeted for 110 students
- Special ed 12 student budgeted for 11
Public revenue goals are to be at 49% currently of 46%
Private revenue received currently at 16% will like to be at 30%
Expenditures to date as a % of the overall budget is 45% goal is to be at 50%
30 days of cash on hand is being met
- First two years must have 30 days cash after it will increase to 60 days cash
P & L
Everything is trending normally
Balance sheet:

Budgeted vs Actual
- Local donations is at 117% percent
- The transportation account will be showing up soon
- Bus costs will be reimbursed,
- paperwork will need to be filled out to get reimbursement
- Total expenditures are 45%
- Discussion around the impacts on inflation, it been observed that products are up around 30% increase

Academic Excellence
T. Treat was absent to give an update
At the next meeting state of the school report will be presented
- The board and teachers will evaluate Jill's Performances

Development
X. Velasco Ponce de Leon Shared development report:
-Since January 500 hours have been logged of volunteer tutoring
-$2600 was raised for musician sponsors to get rock band and orchestra instruments
-There will be a spring concert on May 19th

Facility Task Force
R. Wray gives facility update
-The city of Wenatchee will be leading the bid for the new facility and will vote on the lowest bidder
-Phase 1.5a will update the acoustic sound and create high-quality teaching areas in the great hall.
- There are 3-4 spots identified where portables could be placed in case construction is not complete

A.
Audit Findings of Uncertified Teachers at Summit Charter Schools
Compliance with teachers being certified
S. Koester has sent out an email that all pinnacles prep teachers are certified
- There is a data dashboard that shows teachers that are certified
- If a teacher is not certified a Conditional certification can be obtained
Math is Cool Update
6th grade competed in the small school category
4 out of the top 10 students in 6th grade were pinnacles prep students
- 3rd place winner was a pinnacles prep student
7th-grade categories are pre-algebra and algebra and geometry
- Pinnacles Prep students placed 2nd and 3rd
7th grade overall will receive 3rd place
- Math is cool will go onto to state in April
