D. Phillips called a meeting of the board of trustees of Fitchburg State University to order on Wednesday Apr 17, 2024 at 8:33 AM.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 10:11 AM.

Chair Phillips welcomed Dr. Mark Overmyer-Velazquez.
Dr. Overmyer-Velazquez gave a brief overview of his background and explained why he is interested in the presidency at Fitchburg State.
Board members then engaged in a wide-raging discussion with Dr. Overmyer-Velazquez, covering such topics as student success (academics and co-curricular), diversity and inclusion, academic innovation/planning and faculty engagement, financial management, strategic enrollment, community relations/advancement, and trustee relations.
C. Stimpson left the meeting at 10:09 a.m.
Chair Phillips thanked Dr. Overmyer-Velazquez.
